About

In paintings ranging from loose representations of nature to entirely abstract, Robyn Graham takes reference from everyday tapestries and the casual adornments of our immediate surroundings. Repetitive compositions bear comparison and act as an invitation to the viewer to reminisce on memories evoked by the physical furnishings or decorative textiles that were once present in their lives. Often overlooked and eventually disregarded the materials that created curtains, tablecloths and bedsheets were ever-present during conversations and relationships, are at the forefront of her work. Both her paintings and drawings a nostalgia for the security and comfort, that these embroidered surroundings once offered.
