Art on a Postcard's (AOAP) ninth edition of our Autumn/Winter auction features over 500 works and six guest curators: Frankie Shea of Moniker Projects; Ell Pennick, director of Guts Gallery; gallerist Ed Cross; Millie Foster, director of Gillian Jason Gallery; Katherine Kittoe of Kittoe Contemporary; and comedian and art critic Verity Babbs.
The auction showcases a stellar line-up, including London-based artist Rana Begum, Thomas Dane Gallery’s Hurvin Anderson RA, world-renowned textile designer Kaffe Fassett MBE, Stephen Friedman Gallery’s Anne Rothenstein, celebrated Scottish painter Andrew Cranston, LA contemporary artist Kim Dingle, Glasgow-born Jack Milroy, rising star Matthew Eguavoen, based in Lagos, Nigeria, New Contemporary Tom Harker, popular abstract artist John Simpson, NYC based artist, famed for his instantly recognisable drawings, doodles, characters and murals Jon Burgerman, Dutch artist Bobbye Fermie, and the Chilean Marco Bizzarri. These artists are some of the fabulous talent headlining this year’s show, which aims to raise money for The Hepatitis C Trust’s unfunded helpline, a vital resource for the many thousands of people who received infected blood or blood products.
Frankie Shea
Innovator Frankie Shea of Moniker Projects founded, funded, and produced the first annual art fair of its kind, showcasing works rooted in urban culture, street art and graffiti. Frankie has brought in artists from Bristol's graffiti heritage such as Nick Walker, Sickboy and Hugo Farmer, interdisciplinary artists Faith47 and Fa Razavi and the prolific and notorious writers TOX and 10FOOT.
Ell Pennick
Gut’s Gallery director Ell Pennick is thought to be one of the youngest gallerists navigating today’s art world. Frustrated with the lack of opportunities for Ell’s generation, especially within the working classes, Gut’s Gallery employs an equitable business model to empower the next generation of artists. Ell has introduced exciting emerging talents such as Sophie Vallance Cantor, Olivia Sterling, Georg Wilson, and Iranian British artist Leila Tara H.
Ed Cross
Gallerist Ed Cross has championed the work of African and African diaspora artists since founding his eponymous gallery 13 years ago. On Ed’s roster are Reuben Powell, Russian artist Vladimir Logutov, and sculptor and installation artist Abdulrazaq Awofeso.
Millie Foster
Gillian Jason Gallery director Millie Foster collaborates with female-identifying artists, continuing the legacy started by her grandmother of exhibiting work by pioneering artists. Millie’s roster includes the brilliant painter Christabel Blackburn, multidisciplinary artist Precious Opera, and recent RCA graduate Bethany Hadfield.
Katherine Kittoe
Katherine Kittoe of Kittoe Contemporary showcases artwork in a novel way by placing them in houses and hosting ‘art parties'. Katherine has brought along popular illustrator Charlotte Farmer, cartoonist Joe Berger, and still life painter Jason Line.
Verity Babbs
Comedian and art critic Verity Babs’s selection includes RCA graduate Cecilia Reeve, Portuguese-born Chica Seal, and abstract expressionist Taya De La Cruz.

The Hepatitis C Trust is the national charity for people with hepatitis C. It is a patient-led and patient-run organisation; most of its board, staff and volunteers have had hepatitis C themselves. It is committed to eliminating hepatitis C in the UK by 2025. Its strategy is based around pillars of better prevention, increased diagnosis and treatment for all.
Helpline staff also provide patient-centred responses via email and run a designated prison freephone helpline service for prisoners across the UK. Its policy and parliamentary team works across the UK Parliament and the devolved nations to ensure hepatitis C stays firmly on the political agenda. It also publishes a range of reports and resources on aspects of the hepatitis C care pathway.
