About
With a distinct over-saturated aesthetic, Charlie's images are blissful but hazy and resemble half forgotten memories or stolen glances, rather than high definition photographs.
But while the photographs have a euphoric quality and feel, many stem from a dark period in Tallott’s life.
Tallott uses photography as a refuge, with the camera acting as a momentary window to a different world, capturing snapshots of his daily life and the people around him.
The complexity of life resonates throughout his imagery, with fleeting tender, violent, lonely and rare moments all transported into Tallott’s mystifying, flash-laden universe.
The work embodies the idea that all things must pass, while serving as a reminder to exist within the moment.

Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
The Image presented is part of an ongoing project, started on the subject’s (Cole) 18th birthday. It began as a form of documenting the transition from boy to man, the loss of innocence that comes with it, and gaining of responsibility. I was immediately drawn to Cole as i had met him aged 16 growing up in Leeds, and he instantly reminded me of myself around that age.
