Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
The four images submitted, date from 1965 to 1976, from the Airfix DB5 to Bernard Cribbins "Busby" for the GPO marketing campaign; via the Wombles and finally, Bob Godfrey’s Roobarb. I worked for many years in Advertising and was always drawn to the older craft based packaging and design. For these postcards, I used coloured pencils which are fast, inexpensive and versatile. I love doing these small vibrant images as if I am conjuring up the past by creating these mini homages.
