Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
It's so hot. My creatures are made in monoprint - it’s the closest I can get to painting in the printing medium. The way I make my pictures is very immediate and improvised all the way. Nothing to copy, nothing to refer to, only what is rolling around in my mind.
It’s a bit anxiety-provoking sometimes! I like to feel that I can change my mind if I fancy it, rather than having to stick to what I thought of half an hour, two days, or last week. They’re oil-based ink and oil paint on handmade paper, which is probably one of the most stable mediums you can find. Unlike me, I suppose.
