About

David Woodward is a visual artist based in Tkaronto/Toronto, ON, who works predominantly in paper collage using found media and photographs. Since graduating from the Fine Art and Art History programs at Queen’s University (2013) their work has been exhibited in Canada and abroad in group and solo exhibitions. In their work, David explores relationships between the micro and macro by repurposing imagery and forms from the natural world into new contexts, hierarchies and spaces that forge pathways between seemingly disparate visuals and sources. Weaving personal and collective elements of queer identity into a broader visual narrative that reflects on the intersections between individual and communal experience, David’s work explores notions of interconnectedness, progress and meaning-construction.
