Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
Each postcard is a collage of bright block colour combined with my black and white shadow photography. I’ve always seen the world through the lens of shapes, shadows, patterns and textures. Every day, we pass so many visually beautiful moments, but we often forget to appreciate them. Through my photography, I capture these overlooked details which I’ve cut and collaged to create my block postcard series.
Searching for happy pattern moments brings me a great sense of joy and calm and my daily mission as an artist is to help people celebrate these quiet but mighty moments. I hope that my work encourages people to put their pattern goggles on and sparks a new appreciation for our spectacular world around us.
