ARTIST INFO

About

I formerly trained as a textile designer and have run a small knitwear company for several years. I have been making artworks for the last 4 years. I am very keen on my process being sustainable so all my artwork is made from using discarded cloth bound books that I collect from local charity shops. I live in the lakes district and the landscape around me helps inform my work, also I am a cold water skin swimmer throughout all the seasons, these dips also are a source of inspiration. Colour, texture and balance are important factors in my work, aiming to achieve a sense of quiet and calm reflection.

Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork

The work I have submitted is made from vintage book cloth taken from discarded cloth bound books, this I use as both my palette and canvas. My work is about colour and shape balance and creating a sense of calm.
