Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
Unfolding through layers of impasto brushstrokes, Megan Baker’s oil paintings are in an ever-changing state of coming in and out of being, where fragmented and gestural figures are continually interrupted by the immediacy of the paint.
Morphing between figure and landscape, the paintings look to capture a moment of stillness within nature, even if only fleetingly.
