About
British born now living in Toronto, Charlotte Evans makes paintings based on memory and myth. Highly saturated and often theatrical, her paintings examine what it is that ties us to the people and places from our past and how that informs how we connect to our present.

A riff on an ongoing series of works on panel, of 'Players'- portraits of, on the whole, entirely fictional characters that make later appearances in my larger works. The series represents a process not dissimilar to that of a writer's character development.
