Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
From Wylie’s on going series of figure/object paintings, this study for a larger painting depicts a man beneath a suitcase. Effectively a torso study concerned with skin pulled tight over bones, it is a work of human contrasts - in extremis and repose; intimacy and exposure, banality and beauty.
