Lot 207 - Aaron Warris - The Takeover
Coloured Pencil and Posca Pen on Paper
A6 (10x15cm) Original Artwork

I am a 23 year old artist from Manchester, specialising in coloured pencil drawing. Currently, I am creating a series of works set in the apocalypse, adopting the tale of survivors trying to adapt to a new world. I draw my influence from film, video games and novels of the same nature, particularly with their depiction of the human condition being tested by the evermore tempestuous environment.

Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
I wanted these 4 pieces to be connected to the main apocalypse series, so that viewers get a glimpse into the kind of work I am currently making. They became the pocket sized versions of my usual work, testing my ability to render large scenes and high levels of detail into a much smaller surface. Subconsciously, the motif of nature crept into the series, as it reclaimed what it once had, was destroyed or was part of the destruction. Upon reflection, the environmental elements became a reflection of what becomes of the survivors in the postcards of the apocalypse.
