About
Lisa Golightly strives to capture the essence of fleeting moments and the emotional landscapes of everyday life. Her paintings are an exploration of the intersection between memory and perception. Using vibrant colors and expressive brushwork, she creates a dialogue between abstraction and representation, inviting viewers to engage with and relate to their own memories and experiences.

Found photographs and more recently 8mm home movies work as a starting point to her paintings. She is fascinated by the intricacies of relationships, the interplay of light and shadow, and the beauty found in imperfection. Each painting serves as a practice in storytelling, where layers of paint mimic the layers of our experiences, capturing the complexity of our emotions.

Embracing a process-oriented approach to painting, she allows intuition to guide her hand. This spontaneity not only infuses her work with energy but also mirrors the unpredictability of life itself. Ultimately, the goal of the work is to create a sense of connection—to evoke introspection, longing, and sometimes sadness that resonates with others.
