Lot 232 - Mark Edwards - Stopping to Watch
Acrylic on Paper
A6 (10X15CM) ORIGINAL ARTWORK
SIGNED ON VERSO
In 1967 Mark Edwards left school to study fine art at Medway College of Art Kent, then continued my studies at Walthamstow College of Art London.
In 1974 moved up to the remote far North of Scotland in Sutherland. For a number of years have regularly had one man shows at the Catto Gallery Hampstead, The RedRag Gallery stow-in-the-wold, The Kilmorack Gallery Beaully Scotland.
All my paintings are part of 'The White Wood' series, which I have been obsessed with since 2006, consisting of isolated enigmatic ambiguous characters wearing black coats and bowler hats, deep in snow in an isolated imaginary wood.
