Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork

Since 2018 I have been working with the community on The Aylesbury Estate in SE London as the estate undergoes the process of regeneration .This entails the demolition of all the homes of upward of 10,000 people, many of whom were original council tenants who moved in in the late 1960's . These homes are being replaced by higher density , predominantly private housing . My paintings document this process through glimpses of lives being lived by remaining residents as the estate is demolished around them.
