Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
Painting onto pages of the Futon catalogue is a favourite past time of mine. It's a rest from my large scale paintings and using oil paint. These are made using pencil drawings and gouache paint, which I love for its powdery texture. I enjoy playing around with the shadows that the catalogue images cast under the paint, and I collage the pages too in order to create abstract interior landscapes, each postcard is like a flattened, cropped intersection of space.
