Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork

The four paintings I made for AOAP are all inspired by nature in Singapore, where I currently reside. Like my other recent works, they are all loosely representational with many visible brushstrokes. I usually start with representational images but from a certain point, I ignore the original picture and paint from my imagination. The process is very fluid and organic. Thus the outcome becomes quite different from the initial image. The objects get fragmented and the lines between objects become blurred. As a result, the paintings become the combination of my inner landscape and the outer landscape.

You must not reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell or exploit any works. In doing so, you endanger our relationships with artists, and directly jeopardise the charitable work we do.

PLEASE DO NOT BID ON ARTWORK IN OUR ART ON A POSTCARD AUCTIONS IF YOU INTEND ON SELLING THE ARTWORK AFTER YOU HAVE PURCHASED IT. THIS AUCTION HAS BEEN ORGANISED FOR CHARITY AND ALL ARTWORKS HAVE BEEN GENEROUSLY DONATED BY THE ARTISTS TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE HEPATITIS C TRUST. WHEN THE WORK PRODUCED FOR THE CHARITY IS SOLD ON THE SECONDARY MARKET IT DAMAGES OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ARTIST AND PREVENTS US FROM FUNDRAISING.
