About
Kadiatou Ware is a Brooklyn-based artist born in Mali and raised in Gabon. Her practice is grounded in Denbaw Gaari, which means “mothers thread” in Bambara, and examines the complexities of genetic memory through maternal connections using acrylic, and bogolan collage.

Statement About AOAP Submitted Artwork
MUSO I and MUSO II. Both artworks explore themes of femininity, nature and resilience while acknowledging the complexities of surviving in a world that is ever changing. In both artworks, I use water-based ink on textured paper to symbolize the roughness of our world.
