Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
For a long while my work has been focused on landscape and I’ve spent a number years returning to two specific locations; the backwaters and tributaries of the Thames and small woodlands that I discovered and explored as a child. I return to these same sites as an approach in mediation on the changing environment. Each work and each repetition highlighting the shifts in the landscapes - But rather than an interest in pure landscape, I endure repeated trips to these sites not only to evoke physical places, but also mental states, desires and anxieties that accompany me during those times.
