Sophia Lyons. My S.E. London studio since 2016 is set within 200 acres of parkland and ancient woodland (my lifelong playground). My work is inspired by this nature and urban mix.
Subject matter comes the from the abstract memory having absorbed the sights, sounds and redolence of places I've have experienced, currently focussing on large colourful to semi-monochrome abstracts with a visceral interpretation of the woodland undergrowth which I believe is the 'unsung hero of nature'. www.sophialyonsart.com www.intagram.com/sophialyonsart

About the postcard artworks
I only paint large works so I present 4 pieces, titled ‘Aida. 1,2,3 &4’ - carefully selected, postcard size cut outs from a large painting that I created during ‘Lock-Down One’. ‘Aida’ breathes in the sounds and smells of nature in dense ancient woodland. Cutting these pieces felt reckless at first but I see them as perfect little works of art from one family, each can stand alone or perfectly compliment another.
