Hetty Douglas is a self-taught lesbian artist who focuses primarily on painting. Her complex childhood serves as a source of motivation, leading her to create works that explore the intricate and often dark facets of individual identity. Douglas fearlessly addresses these themes, combining introspective examinations with universal reflections on healing our inner worlds and wounds, often incorporating a sexual or deeply personal twist.

Douglas has exhibited in numerous group and solo shows worldwide. Her first solo exhibition Flooded, was held at Gallery Steinsland Berliner in Stockholm in 2022, followed by Baby Names in Los Angeles in 2023, completed post-residency. Most recently, she concluded her third solo exhibition with Mott Projects in New York. Ahead, Douglas has several upcoming group shows and a solo exhibition scheduled for London, May 2025. Her first London based solo yet.
