Neil's reduction wood engravings commissioned by the Folio Society in 2018 to illustrate the poetry of Wilfred Owen drew international acclaim. Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
The work I make explores the concepts of place and home, fragility and loss, and the relationship between land and sea. The engravings here are from a series of 10 multiple block relief engravings currently in development. They explore the notion of a dog’s sense of place, and of how mapping territory through routine dog walking builds an attachment to the places where we live both for the walker and their dogs.
