Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
The submitted works are part of my ongoing occupation with the female nude. I first take the photographs with an analogue large format camera. From the negatives I then make silver gelatin prints, on which I finally apply oil paints. This technique not only allows for a more painterly depiction of the flesh, but it also gives me the possibility to freely create new compositions, which challenge the boundaries between photography and painting, figuration and abstraction.
