ARTIST INFO
About
I compose paintings of video game worlds and the characters that inhabit them. Digital heroes and icons are reframed within the context of art history. The paintings are formed a number of ways. Sometimes from memory and imagination, in other instances based on loose renditions of historical and mythical compositions. Some character poses can be attributed to stills from anime or images from old gaming strategy guides. The work is generated intuitively and I am reactive to the process of building up a painted image.
