Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
These works are typical of the emotionally charged figures I paint. Aspects of the images reveal the psychological and physiological experiences of the women depicted and the interplay between the physical and mental worlds. I often paint and print pattern onto my works and this, along with other personal symbols, add to layers of meaning and serve to interrupt the visual space. Colour is used expressively and mixed media affords a rich variety of expressive effects.
