About
Born in Plymouth, Emma Haworth lives and works in London and is represented by the Rebecca Hossack Gallery.
Emma Haworth’s paintings are narratives usually set in a park or country side behind which is an urban environment. These areas are havens for people and wildlife, places of sanctuary and refuge from the city. Such spaces have a constantly changing backdrop with the seasons weather and passage or time affecting the wildlife and people that pass through them. The narrative in Haworth’s paintings may draw from fairy tales, stories or biblical tales that have a relationship with our contemporary society. The places she paints are magical, full of secrets and hints of stories.
