Mark, could you give us a brief description of the work Genesis Imaging does?

From the company’s beginning as one of many traditional photographic labs in London, Genesis has evolved into a hub for discerning photographers and artists with a comprehensive range of printing and finishing services; a process that now begins with the initial consultations and edits through to printing, framing and even installation. International shipping means we’re producing work for clients worldwide.

Our printing services include Lambda C-type, Giclée Fine Art, ChromaLuxe and Direct to Media UV printing services, comprehensive mounting services and bespoke framing – up to a huge 3 x 2m. Using the relatively new Direct to Media process, we’ve produced artwork for clients on materials ranging from Dibond, glass, wood, right through to rubber and concrete – we’re always trying new things. Experimentation is our life blood.

Can you tell us a bit about the creative endeavors you support?

Genesis is very proud to collaborate with and support a number of leading creative initiatives including Photo London, Format Festival, Travel Photographer of the Year and London Art Fair, amongst others. We’re proud to be supporting Photography on a Postcard for the first – of what we hope – of many years to come.

We also do our utmost to support students and young professionals as we recognize that they are the future of the creative industry.

In what ways can students use your services?

From years of experience working with students, we’re only too aware of the financial pressures faced in the production of final work, and of our responsibility to help foster new talent as leaders in production for the creative industries.

In addition to the existing support we currently offer to students of Nottingham Trent University, London College of Communication and Westminster University and our student and graduate discounts, This year we have been proud to announce the Genesis Postgraduate Bursary Award – full production of one individual’s degree show (up to the value of £2000) alongside 12 months mentoring and support, promotion via our newsletter and social media channels and invites to industry events and exhibitions.

The award is our way of encouraging the next generation of arts practitioners who have taken a leap to complete a postgraduate degree in photography or art related disciplines in the South of England, initially, with room for expansion in the forthcoming years.

Not only do we also offer a student discount (of 20%), but we’ve also extended this to those who have recently graduated too.

Why do you think Art on a Postcard and Genesis are a good match?

We believe in championing photography of all abilities which aligns perfectly with the opportunity that Art on a Postcard offers for emerging talent to exhibit alongside luminaries of the photographic world at one of the UK’s largest photographic events; Photo London.
