Inside the Artist's Studio with Sophia Bharmal
Happy International Women's Day - we are celebrating with our fifth and final Inside the Artist's Studio (ITAS) featuring Sophia Bharmal!
Sophia takes through her vibrant artworks, describing her inspirations from the South Asian community and her journey to find her place within it as a second generation immigrant. Her submitted pieces are informed by this sometimes uneasy dynamic, commenting on a women's role within her community.
'I want to make my drawings into a safe space, especially for the women in my family, a space where we all feel appreciated and valued.' Lots 129 -130 - Sophia Bharmal - Sustained 1 & Sustained 2 are part of our International Women's Day Auction. Bidding is open now until 15th March.
