Jackie Almond
Time spent as a colourist of Antiquarian prints taught Jackie about the subtleties of light and tone and her aim is to communicate the essence of an atmosphere, which evokes stillness and silence. She studied English at university and literature has consequently been a constant inspiration for her painting. Places and subsequent sensibilities are also major influences. She paints: interiors; still life and abstract landscapes and her work has been exhibited in London galleries and in East Anglia. She has exhibited, on two occasions, at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
For many years Jackie divided her time between London and France. She now lives on the Suffolk coast which provides a constant source of inspiration and she is part of the yearly Walberswick Open Studios.
