Ellie Davies (Born 1976) lives in Dorset and works in the woods and forests of Southern England. She gained her MA in Photography from London College of Communication.
Davies is represented by Crane Kalman Brighton Gallery in the UK, A.Galerie in Paris, Dimmitt Contemporary Art in Houston and Austin, Texas, Susan Spiritus Gallery in California, Gilman Contemporary in Sun Valley, Idaho and Brucie Collections in Kyiv. In the past year Davies’ work has been exhibited in Istanbul, Shanghai, Germany, Paris, the US and London. Davies also released two new bodies of work in 2023, Chalk Streams and Seascapes Triptych. Both were recently exhibited in a solo exhibition at Crane Kalman Gallery in London. A second solo show at Zingst Horizonte Environmental Photo Festival in Germany continues until June 2024. Thirty billboard-sized prints ranging from 2012 onwards are currently exhibited there in a seaside meadow setting. Davies also participated in group exhibitions including Return to Nature at Pearl Museum in Shanghai and Where the Wild Roses Grow at Museum Gazhane in Istanbul as part of the 212 Festival. Chalk Streams has received a Gold award in the PX3 Paris Photo Prize 2023 Nature and Water, Finalist in the Klompching Fresh 2023 Awards, 2nd Place Winner in the Annual Photography Awards 2023 Fine Art: Places and Spaces and an Honorable mention in the ND Awards 2023. Chalk Streams 10 was selected for the Earth Photo Awards 2023 which opened at The Royal Geographical Society in London before touring nine UK national forests – Grizedale Forest, Sidney Nolan Trust, Moors Valley, Bedgebury National Pinetum, Dalby Forest, Haldon Forest Park, Fineshade Wood, and The Lost Gardens of Heligan into 2024. A new monograph of Davies’ work spanning work from the last 10 years was published in July 2023 by Crane Kalman Brighton Gallery and A.galerie Paris.
Davies has been interviewed by National Geographic, On Landscape, The Guardian, Aesthetica Magazine, The LA Times, Huffington Post, Mountain Living USA, Stir World India, Rakes Progress, Ernest Journal, Lens Culture, Zoom Magazine Italy, China Life Magazine, Dodho Magazine, A Small Voice Podcast, Photomonitor, and Gardens Illustrated amongst others. Selected books include Sacrifice by Laurence Bourgeouis, published by La tête à Versa: France in 2021. Keeper of the Hearth by Odette England, Schilt Publishing, 2020. Le Magiciennes de la Terre: L’art et la Nature au Feminin by Virginie Luc, published by Les Editions Ulmer Paris. Matter and Desire published by Chelsea Green, Vermont USA. Arboreal: A Collection of New Woodland Writing published by Little Toller Books with images and cover by Davies. WUD: Four Fictional Walks in the Woods has been added to the collections of the National Art Library at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, The Library Project Bookshop in Dublin, The Glasgow School of Art Library, and is stocked in Foyles London and by Tangerine Press. She is an associate artist for Demain, La Foret (Tomorrow, the Forest) – a major tree planting project in Loire, France, and Philropy Philanthropy Card – supporting The Carpathia European Wilderness Reserve in Romania. Davies’ work is held in private collections worldwide.
Shipping Information
Uk Delivery
On most orders you will have the choice between Tracked 48 (£5.00) or Tracked 24 (£7.00).
Print orders from the Printspace are printed and shipped to order - they may take up to 3 days to dispatch.
If a parcel is returned to us by the shipping company after delivery is attempted for a second time, we will require a £15.00 fee to be paid before items are re-sent.
Once your payment has been processed, we aim to have your order dispatched within 7 days.
UK orders will be sent with Royal Mail with the relevant level of insurance.
International Delivery
International Shipping Costs start at £12.00 and increase due to World Zone, insurance, and weight.
If a parcel is returned to us by the shipping company after delivery is attempted for a second time, we will require repayment of the shipping cost before items are re-sent.
Once your payment has been processed, we aim to have your order dispatched within 7 days.
Please bear in mind that international shipping may take considerably longer than domestic shipping, depending on destination country and customs.
Shipment to non-UK countries may be subject to import duties and taxes, and these additional charges must be paid by the customer. Art on a Postcard has no control over these charges and bears no responsibility for these. They must be paid by the receiver.
**Important Note about Delivery Times during December**
Please pay for your artworks and postage ASAP in order to guarantee delivery before Christmas - postage must be placed by 15th December for UK orders. We cannot guarantee Christmas delivery for international orders.
Returns Policy
Returns
Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it and in the original packaging. To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted:
- Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
- Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
Late or Missing Refunds
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Exchanges
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at info@artonapostcard.com and send your item to: Art on a Postcard, Unit 14, Spaces Business Centre, 15-17 Ingate Place, London, SW8 3NS.
Shipping

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
If you are shipping an item over £75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
