Jake and Dinos Chapman - Bunny Dream

We are delighted to be working with Jake and Dinos in our second collaboration with Jealous Gallery. 'Bunny Dream' will be released at London Original Print Fair on May 4 at The Royal Academy. 

Since the nineties the brothers’ artistic collaborations have been recognised as the best in British Contemporary Art. In 2003 they were nominated for the Turner Prize and their exhibitions have sold out worldwide. Their works explore thematic collisions such as humour and horror, beauty and pain, innocence and perversion. Statues of naked children with penises for noses, defacing Goya etchings with clown faces, and two male mannequins dressed in Nazi-style uniforms having anal sex, their work always confronts the viewer with such immediacy, as funny as it is terrifying. Their work regularly delves into political, religious and mythological themes and you can’t help but feel like they know something we all don’t, but that they have more fun teasing us with it than letting us all know. Since stepping on the scene in the nineties their art has been a disruption; subverting norms, colliding contrasting themes and unapologetic imagery. 

Bunny Dream is a psychedelic, layered piece with undeniable sexual and playful undertones. Is it a coincidence that the Spanish equivalent of the colloquialism pussy is rabbit?

The London Original Print Fair will be held at the Royal Academy between the 4th-7th May.

Rosa Torr is a final year BA Politics and Philosophy student from London currently at University College Dublin. Her place of interest is political theory and in particular Gender Studies.
