Miles Aldridge

Miles Aldridge (British, b.1964) is a fashion photographer widely known for his distinctive over-saturated, surreal, and glamorous photographsIn his work, Aldridge sets a stage and mood akin to the great Hollywood directors of the 1940s through 1960s. Infused with intense colour, light, and drama, his women and men are always beautiful and detached. The women he portrays, in particular, are often caught in dark or mysterious situations.

Aldridge’s photographs have been exhibited in the Miami Beach Art Expo (2007); the Galerie Alex Daniels, Amsterdam (2006 and 2008); the Contributed Studio for the Arts, Berlin (2010); the Gallery Hotel Art, Florence (2010); his first United States solo show, The Cabinet and Acid Candy, was displayed at the Steven Kasher Gallery in New York City (2009). His work is in numerous permanent collections including the National Portrait Gallery, London, the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, and the International Center of Photography, New York.

Julia Fullerton-Batten

Julia Fullerton-Batten is a worldwide acclaimed and exhibited fine-art photographer. Fullerton-Batton’s body of work encompasses twelve major projects which span a decade of her career in the field.

Julia’s use of unusual locations, highly creative settings, street-cast models, accented with cinematic lighting are hallmarks of her style. She insinuates visual tensions in her images and imbues them with a mystique that teases the viewer into continually re-examining the picture; something new coming to the fore each time. These qualities have established enthusiasts for her work worldwide and at all ends of the cultural spectrum, from casual viewers to connoisseurs of fine-art photography.

She was commissioned by The National Portrait Gallery in London to shoot portraits of leading people in the UK National Health Service. These are now held there in a permanent collection. Ade Adekola

Ade Adekola’s work spans a variety of media: photography, installations, and interactive art. He is a Nigerian-born Architect turned contemporary artist. Self-taught, he has been making images since his early teens. Ade’s eye is influenced by a blend of visual languages that cut across multiple cultures. In his recent works he redirects his practice to creating contemporary representations from traditional and urban Nigerian culture. For example, he creates new expressions of traditional textiles; glittering gemstone photo mosaics from ethnographic images; large scale photomontages of urban dwellers; iconic blur images of festivals and optical kinetic pieces from urban photograms. His work is colourful and often uses overlapping images. His innovative compositions add new perspectives to African photography.
