Jock McFadyen RA
Jock McFadyen RA is one of the UK’s foremost painters. Born in Scotland, McFadyen studied at Chelsea School of Art and his career encompasses the prestigious Artist-in-Residence at The National Gallery London and co-ordinating the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition in 2019. His paintings feature in the collections of over 40 public institutions including Tate Gallery, National Gallery, V&A, British Museum and the Scottish Museum of Modern Art as well as many corporate and private collections in the UK and abroad. McFadyen lives and works in London, Edinburgh and France.
In 2021 Dovecot Studios collaborated with McFadyen on The Mallaig Commission – a major new artwork that interprets the Scottish artist’s gritty, urban vision through the dramatic sensuality of fine art textile.
