World Hepatitis Day 2019

World Hepatitis Day is one of WHO’s seven officially mandated global public health days.

Of the 325 million people living with viral hepatitis globally, 9 out of 10 are living with hepatitis B or hepatitis C without knowing. This increases the likelihood of people with thedisease transmitting it to others, and also puts them at risk of developing health and liver complications, ultimately leading to liver cancer or fatal liver disease.

Art on a Postcard raises money for The Hepatitis C Trust, whose campaign has led to the NHS England elimination deal, which will provide investment to find undiagnosed patients, with the aim of achieving elimination in the UK by 2025.
