About

Archie Rogers is a contemporary artist portraying the ambience and turmoil within the everyday. Depictions from day-to-day life spill onto empty pages, floating and combining into busy yet serene compositions. A cacophony of things, existence between urban chaos and rural calm. Working primarily with paper and found wood, Rogers explores a practice of drawing, carving, object-making, and painting.

Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork

These drawings feature many instinctual forms depicting recent interactions. They include natural elements such as crags and peaks, tall trees, a walking bird, farmland, and seeds caught in gusts of wind. These are combined and overlayed with urban elements such as pylons, gas towers, houses, fences and vessels.
