About

Julie Maurin is an artist that re-uses objects to arrive at newly ambiguous forms or artifacts that could be found in a far future. Her practice is material-led and often includes plants or preserved animals combined with plastic, a material that is very representative of our times. Her work, by being as fragile as we all are and thus subjected to decay, challenges capitalistic tendencies to categorize, commodify and ultimately control works of art.
