About

Born in Yorkshire in 1965, Andrew has lived and worked in London for 30 years.  Having obtained a BA at Wimbledon School of Art under Bernard Cohen between 1984 - 1987, he has since exhibited at Boundary Gallery and Bedford Gallery and most recently the New English Art Club, winning the Winsor & Newton award in 2024. Since 2015 he has been concentrating on London scenes, primarily the commons in southwest London at night along with a series of estate paintings which have awarded him the Founder's Prize at ING Discerning Eye 2023, first prize for Jackson's Art Prize 2024 and being selected for the RA Summer Exhibition.

“I have lived around the commons of southwest London for most of my life and I’ve always seen something remarkable in these spaces at night – melancholy, beauty, expectation, romance – and although I felt they would be a rich subject for painting, it wasn’t until recently that I could see a way to approach it.”

Insulate Ukraine

Overview

We bring warmth, light and safety to war-impacted homes with an innovative window developed with the help of engineers from the University of Cambridge. We've installed more than 20,000 windows in cities across Ukraine. Our projects provide work to financially destitute areas empowering local communities.

Problem

During winter many Ukrainians will face freezing conditions due to their windows being shattered. Current solutions such as OSB fall short on several counts. They don't insulate well, they don't let light through, they can be difficult to install, and they shatter.

Solution

Our triple-glazed polyethylene windows provide an affordable, effective remedy, that increases resilience in communities worst affected by the invasion.

Benefits

Our windows present multifaceted benefits. For recipients, they ensure warmth, safety, and improved living conditions. Local civilians gain work which fuels regional business. Donors contribute to a solution that enhances energy efficiency, supports economic growth, and aids the most vulnerable, creating profound environmental, economic, and social impacts in Ukraine.
