Anastazie Anderson (b. 1995) is a Czech-British artist based in London. Pulling inspiration from home photography, the imagery of social media, and cinematic iconography, Anderson paints on large-scale canvas to make images sourced from photographs into grand, life-like scenes from a past history.

Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
My paintings are usually very large. ‘Umbrella’ is a self-portrait and an attempt to bring the same immediacy and sense of envelopment of a larger work to a smaller one using bold colour, strong horizontal and vertical lines, and zero-point perspective. It is also part of a larger body of work exploring my life in London as experienced through mass image.
