Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
Four oil paintings on paper primed with gesso titled ‘Pretend I’m Not Here’, ‘Masurian Mission’, ‘General Sherman (Tree)’ and ‘In Transit’. The paintings are a revisiting of a more fluid painting style combined with erasure. Through these works I explored moments of transition between creating as an artist, and the regularity of part time employment. I find it interesting to reflect on how roles can filter perception of your surroundings and feelings of belonging.
