About
Efrat Merin is a London-based artist. Her work merges lesbo-futuristic and Judeo-futuristic mythologies, celebrating female desires through a queer retelling of mythical narratives. The figures in her paintings—often anthropomorphic women—embody desire, oppression, and liberation, navigating the limbo between birth and decay. She works mainly in the sgraffito technique with cold encaustic paint, as well as in drawing, gouache, and egg tempera.
