About
Louise West is an Irish artist based in Dublin. West is a Fine Art graduate of the National College of Art and Design in Dublin who has completed three years of the London based Turps Banana mentorship course. She has shown her work in site specific and group shows in galleries such as; Crawford Art Gallery, The Royal Academy Belfast, Draíocht Art Gallery Dublin, Kilkenny Castle Gallery, The Mermaid Art Centre .Group shows include ArtForm Open call (shortlisted for the Artform Annual 44 Artist of Merit Award 2021) and Artform Mount Congrieve open call, The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over the Lazy Dog showing at Cohort.Art, Revival at ArtNet DLR ,Winter Open at Courthouse Gallery, Ennistymon, Fitzrovia Gallery, London. She has been recently featured in the New York based Artrentrepenur magazine as the recipient of the Still Life open call.
West had her first solo show in Mura Ma art space in Manchester in 2023 and collaborated with Dez Rez projects showing at their Manchester Window Gallery. She completed a residency in the Tyrone Guthrie Centre and was a recipient of the Arts council of Ireland's Agility Award in 2024 and was selected and shown at Elysium Gallery Swansea as a part of the Beep painting Biennial.
